ICDE 2015 - 26th International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) World Conference
Topics/Call fo Papers
The aim of the conference is to bring together a range of stakeholders and interested parties (eg practitioners and researchers) in Open Distance Learning (ODL) and e-learning to share and promote good practices, empirical research, diverse views and innovative approaches to teaching and learning in an ODL environment. The conference theme addresses the sustainability character and nature of the ODL philosophy of access, flexibility and student-centredness.
This conference, which will be the first of its kind in Africa, will draw ODL experts, academics and practitioners from around the world to debate on critical issues on the role of ODL in building social, political and economic development of the world.
One of the key objectives of the ICDE is to promote the importance of open, distance, flexible and online education, including e-learning in educational policy. This will be achieved through some of the issues that will be addressed in the sub-themes. This conference will not only promote and create awareness about ODL provision but it will also assist in strengthening capacity of African ODL researchers, academics and institutions to improve on the quality of delivery of education. The ultimate aim is to enhance quality in open, distance, flexible and online education, including e-learning.
