Overview:
Learn specific examples how to document for services and procedures accurately and effectively. In this course you will learn:
Expertise in reviewing and assigning accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services performed by physicians and other qualified health care providers in the office.
Proficiency across a wide range of services, including evaluation and management, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, pathology and medicine
A sound knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement - allowing a CPC to better handle issues such as medical necessity, claims denials, bundling issues and charge capture
Understand how to integrate medical coding and payment policy changes into a practice's reimbursement processes
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology necessary to correctly code provider diagnosis and service.

Jeff is a resident of Memphis, TN since 1980. He has two coding certifications: the Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) certified professional coder for physician (outpatient) reimbursement and the AAPC certified professional coder for hospital (inpatient) reimbursement. Jeff has been a certified coder since 1999.
Jeff has the unique combination of twenty years of experience, Medical Coding Certification (CPC & CPC-H), training experience (medical coding and billing) a strong background in databases and Information Systems, and an MBA in Finance.
Jeff is an experienced educator and auditor, having conducted hundreds of training courses, worldwide on CPT and ICD-9 coding and billing, auditing and compliance.
At Ritecode the focus is on coding and billing training, both online and onsite, chart audits and back-office operational enhancement of the insurance-claims cycle. Jeff has worked for numerous large clinics, hospitals and government agencies, including Baptist and Methodist hospitals (in Memphis TN), Hospital Management Associates, Medicare, the VA and the DOD.
