Workshop on
Evolutionary Methods for MultiObjective
Optimization and
Decision Making
During
20th International Conference on MultiCriterion
Optimization and
Decision Making (2126
June 2009) Chengdu, China
Organizers: Kalyanmoy Deb and Eckart Zitzler
The goal of this workshop is to showcase salient current research and
application studies on multi©\objective optimization and decision making using
evolutionary computation methodologies during the mainstream conference in
MCDM. The major research and application in evolutionary multi©\objective
optimization (EMO) started in early nineties and was boosted by their flexibility
and ability to find multiple near Pareto©\optimal solutions in a single simulation.
Since the early studies, EMO methodologies are increasingly being used in
different problem solving tasks including sciences, engineering and commerce.
Lately, EMO methodologies are also being integrated with MCDM techniques to
handle both optimization and decision©\making tasks usually involved in a multiobjective
optimization study.
The organization of the workshop within the mainstream MCDM conference is
likely to foster collaborations between major research fields in multi©\objective
optimization and decision making today.
The workshop invites high quality papers in all theoretical, developmental,
implementational and applied aspects of EMO and decision making. Papers
focussing on hybrid EMO and MCDM methodologies are highly encouraged.
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently
under consideration for publication elsewhere. Refereeing and the selection of
papers will be carried out according to the standards of Lecture Notes in
Economics and Mathematical Systems. Papers must not exceed eight pages in
length in the LNEM style.
o Paper Submission Deadline: 20 December 2008
o Notification of workshop acceptance: 10 January 2009
o Camera©\ready of accepted workshop papers: 31 January 2009
o Final advanced registration of workshop opens: 31 January 2009
o Workshop date: 21 June 2009, Conference dates: 21©\26 June 2009
