The Twelfth IAPR Conference on Machine Vision Applications will be held at Nara Centennial Hall, Nara,
JAPAN (http://www.nara100.com/), from June 13 through 15, 2011. The conference is co-sponsored by the MVA
Organization, IAPR TC-8 and NAIST. The purpose of the conference is to bring together researchers and
practitioners from both academia and industry, so that they can exchange their knowledge and stimulate each
other through intensive discussions mainly on (but not limited to) the research topics listed below.

The conference will consist of oral and poster presentations on the above topics. All presentations will be in
English. Authors should submit a full paper up to four pages. The submission of the paper must be made
electronically. Detailed instructions are available on the MVA Organization web site: http://www.mva-org.jp/. If
the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors must attend the conference to present the paper.
