Welcome to the 5th International Nursing and Midwifery Conference hosted by the School of Nursing and Midwifery, National University of Ireland, Galway in partnership the Nursing and Midwifery Planning Development Unit of the Health Service Executive (HSE) West and Mid West.
This conference provides an opportunity for researchers, practitioners and policy makers to get together to learn, debate and share methods of building and promoting excellence in practice. Our fourth conference held in 2013 was attended by more than 200 national and international delegates. It is our hope that this year's conference will continue to build on that success by promoting national and international scholarship through creating opportunities for participants to network, form new relationships and explore opportunities to work collaboratively.
The scientific programme will be made up of presentations, submitted oral and poster presentations and workshops.
The over-arching theme of the conference 'Building and Promoting Excellence in Practice' highlights the importance of strengthening nursing and midwifery practice at international, national, local and community levels.
