ISQua 2016 - ISQua's 33rd International Conference

ISQua’s 33rd International Conference will be held in Tokyo's International Forum. Each year ISQua brings delegates together from across the world to hear from leaders in their field share their expertise and knowledge through a multidisciplinary forum including scientific sessions and networking social events.

Travelling to Japan
Nearly all major airlines and airports offer flights to Japan. The countries own two leading airlines, Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), both serve a broad range of international destinations. Japan's most important international airport is Tokyo's Narita Airport which is an hour from Tokyo by bus, followed by Tokyo's Haneda Airport which is about 30 minutes from Tokyo via monorail, followed by Osaka's Kansai Aiport and Nagoya's Central Japan Airport.
?Visa
If you are a citizen of one of the over 50 countries, with which Japan has a "general visa exemption arrangement", you only need a valid passport to enter Japan as a "temporary visitor". Otherwise, you need to obtain a visa before entering the country. Temporary visitors from most countries are allowed to stay for up to 90 days. If you are a citizen of Austria, Germany, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, you have the possibility to extend your stay to a total of up to six months.All foreign tourist in Japan are required to carry their passports with them at all times.

The Japanese currency is the yen (円, en). One yen corresponds to 100 sen. However, sen are usually not used in everyday life anymore, except in stock market prices. Billscome in 1,000 yent, 2,000 yen (very rare), 5,000 yen and 10,000 yen denominations. Coins come in 1 yen, 5 yen, 10 yen, 100 yen and 500 yen denominations. Counterfeit money is not an issue in Japan.Foreign currencies are generally not accepted outside of major international airports.

Language
There is only one official language spoken in Japan, which of course is Japanese. However, many Japanese are able to understand English to a certain extent since English is the foreign language that everyone must learn as part of compulsory education. Even if you don't understand Japanese, you can still certainly enjoy Japan. But if you know a few everyday Japanese phrases then it will make your trip even more memorable a few words make a big difference.
Climate
Visiting Japan can be enjoyable at any time of year. Due to the country's large nort-south extension, weather patterns can differ dramatically between regions. October is one of the most pleasant months for travelling in Japan as the weather remains warm, but is not hot and humid anymore. Trees begin turing colours in the northern regions and higher elevations.
Tokyo
Tokyo is Japan's capital and the world's most populous metropolis. It is also one of Japan's 47 prefectures, consisting of 23 central city wards and multiple cities, towns and villages to the west of the city centre. The Izu and Ogaswara Islands are also part of Tokyo. Today, Tokyo offers seemingly unlimited choice of shopping, entertainment, culture and dining to its visitors. The city's history can be appreciated in districts such as Asakusa, and in many excellent museums, historic temples and gardens. Contrary to common perception, Tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city centre and within relatively short train rides at its outskirts.
