Ubiquitous computing refers to computing present anywhere and everywhere. The environment supports a digital network of a large variety of independent devices which are constantly producing a rich stream of data. Due to the size constraints of many devices utilized in a ubiquitous-computing environment and their high reliance on constant sensing and communication, creating energy-aware systems, applications, services, and networks have become both challenging and essential.
EnergyUbi‘14 workshop aims to bring together researchers from all areas of ubiquitous computing to explore the possibilities and challenges of energy awareness and management in a ubiquitous-computing environment.
Topics of Interest
We solicit paper submissions in the following contexts (not an extensive list):
Energy-efficient context- and location-aware computing
Challenges and opportunities for power profiling in sensor-rich environments
Energy-performance tradeoffs in sensor-rich environments
Power and performance benchmark analysis for ubiquitous computing
Evaluation of services and applications in a ubiquitous-computing environment
Computing workloads for ubiquitous computing
Crowd sourcing and collaborative computing
Energy-efficient networks for ubiquitous computing communication
Power and performance issues on data processing in ubiquitous computing
Energy- and power-saving modules for ubiquitous computing
