19th Western Photosynthesis Conference
7-10 January 2010
Asilomar Conference Center
Pacific Grove, California
The 19th Western Photosynthesis Conference will be held at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. The Conference provides undergraduate and graduate students, post-docs, and faculty with opportunities to present and discuss their work with scientists from institutions throughout the Western United States and with leading photosynthesis researchers invited from other locales.

Cost of the conference includes registration, refreshments, informal socials, and conference facilities (lecture/poster rooms and accessories). See the registration page for additional information on Conference fees. Participants are responsible for making their own arrangements for lodging and meals through Asilomar or elswhere.

Eight symposia are planned. The first symposium will commence on Thursday evening following dinner. Friday and Saturday symposia will include morning and evening sessions, with afternoons free for poster viewing, discussions, or exploration of the nearby area. The last session will conclude before lunch on Sunday. Each symposium will include two or three lectures given by invited speakers; these presentations will last 30 minutes, with 10 minutes allotted for questions. Short presentations will follow, with 15 minutes to speak and 5 minutes for questions. Please plan to submit an abstract for presentations. Informal socials will follow each evening session. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Each attendee is encouraged to bring a poster and submit an abstract. Individuals (including speakers) may bring more than one poster. Posters should be hung on Thursday afternoon or evening and remain up during the conference. All abstracts will be compiled into the Conference program, which will be distributed on 8 January at the Registration Desk. Abstracts will also be available online as they are received.
