Topics/Call fo Papers

The symposium MEIS gives a unique venue where mathematicians, CG researchers, and those who work in industry gather to share and discuss their contemporary issues and future collaborative projects.
The first MEIS (MEIS2013) was a great success with a variety of subjects, such as character deformation/ animation, spherical harmonic lighting, fluid control, 2D/3D image analysis/synthesis, and visual illusion, as well as the outstanding invited speakers in computer graphics, vision, and digital production industry.
This year MEIS will have more industry topics and deeper mathematics. We would therefore like to seek for the prospective papers and posters that suit for the scope of MEIS.
The paper and poster submissions will be peer-reviewed by the international program committee of MEIS2014:
Papers
We welcome original research papers or surveys from academia/industries. The papers relevant to the interaction between mathematics and CG would be desired, but not mandatory. Any topic that the authors believe attracts the attendees of MEIS2014 is appreciated. In addition we’ll be grateful to have case-study papers from industry, which describe the project/product that have a close relation with the development in mathematics or/and CG as well as more expectations on their future.
Posters
The topics suited for poster presentation are the same as those for papers. We welcome researchers/ practitioners who will present their finished/ongoing work, sharing and discussing ideas, through their posters.
All accepted papers and posters will be included in the conference proceedings, published as a volume of Mathematics-for-Industry Lecture Notes series, Kyushu University. The selected works from the accepted papers will further be published as a volume in the Mathematics For Industry series by Springer. High quality short papers, which originally describes the posters at MEIS2014, will also be selected to have extended versions in this volume.
