ASME NQA-1 is the national consensus standard for quality assurance (QA) programs at nuclear facilities and power plants regulated and licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The NQA-1 standard is also a QA program requirement at U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear and radiological facilities. NQA-1 is not just a standard for QA to perform compliance audits; it is a comprehensive quality management system that governs nuclear-related job functions and activities.
Your understanding and ability to integrate the standard's applicable requirements into your daily work activities is critical for facility mission success. To do this, you need to have a fundamental understanding of the standard's requirements as they apply to your job. This webinar will provide a general overview of the NQA-1contents and format, and explain how to apply the most common Part I requirements.
Part I requirements discussed will include QA program implementation, training and qualification, procurement of goods and services and prevention of suspect/counterfeit items, material receipt and handling, use and control of documents, disposition of nonconforming items, responding to audit findings with effective corrective action, use of software for quality activities, and generation of quality records.
