EC 2014 - Education in the Cloud Workshop
Topics/Call fo Papers
Cloud computing represents a major shift in the way we develop and deploy systems and services. Virtualisation is used to make computational, storage and software resources available on demand as online services. Major levels of abstraction are categorised as Infrastructure as a Service, Software as a Service and Platform as a Service. Clouds are described as public, private or hybrid. Which models are useful for education? What benefits and risks are there for education in the cloud? What research is needed to better understand the potential and possibilities? In this workshop, we invite submissions that show research in the use of cloud computing for educational purposes in areas including computer science, engineering, health science and social sciences etc. Your research should highlight how new techniques and methods enabled by the cloud may solve challenges arising in those diverse areas.
