Topics/Call fo Papers

The SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) Sensor Symposium, October 30-31, 2014 will focus on wireless sensors for sensing applications in the industry. www.saw-symposium.com
Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors, an offspring of precision filters used in mobile communication devices, are developed for various sensing applications in the industry. They can be operated wirelessly and exhibit very good thermal stability for harsh environment applications. SAW sensors have been reported for physical sensing properties like temperature, pressure, strain and torque/force measurement, but also for chemical and biological sensing applications.
PLATFORM FOR RESEARCH & INDUSTRY
The SAW Sensor Symposium will build bridges between the latest technological developments from science and industrial applications. Its programme covers the latest research from academia and application-related talks from industrial end users. Key speakers include (excerpt)
> Electra Gizeli, Forth foundation (Greece)
“Role of SAW devices in clinical and diagnostic platforms”,
> David W. Greve, Carnegie Mellon University (USA)
“SAW devices for harsh environment wireless sensing”,
> Bert Wall, Vectron International (Germany) “600°C wireless temperature sensor”,
> Jean-Michel Freidt, SensSeor SAS (France) “Industrial sensing in HV environments” or
> Jan Stewart Rambech, Kongsberg (Norway).
The Symposium provides an excellent opportunity to meet engineers from academia and industry.
