APESER 2010 - The 4th Asia-Pacific Embedded Systems Education and Research Conference (APESER 2010)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 4th Asia-Pacific Embedded Systems Education and Research Conference (APESER 2010)
http://brass.cs.nctu.edu.tw/APESER2010/
Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China
13-14 December, 2010
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Embedded system design as a discipline has long been pursued in various industrial application domains including avionics, aerospace, automobile, consumer electronics and industrial control. Within the Asia-Pacific region, the embedded system industry has exhibited year-on-year growth, to the point where it has become an important contributor to many regional economies.
This has resulted in a growing need for highly-trained and skilled manpower to meet the insatiable demands of industry, leading to an emphasis on embedded systems in many Asia-Pacific universities. In addition, several Asia-Pacific nations, so long lagging behind Europe and the Americas, have emerged in recent years as major powerhouses of embedded systems R&D, both in industry and in academia. This backdrop led to the creation, in 2007, of a regional conference dedicated to embedded systems: APESER. In our fourth annual meeting we now aim to gather the embedded systems community together to discuss issues and challenges in this field. Topics discussed in the conference include, but are not limited to, the following:
Education
Research
Applications
Lab design & training
Curriculum design
Courseware & platforms
Student promotion
Teaching methods
Teaching projects
Collaborative groupware
Hands-on approaches
Embedded hardware
Embedded Linux
Embedded software
Low-power systems
Systems-on-a-chip
Custom designs
Reconfigurable devices
Embedding applications
Real-time systems
System development
Embedded tools
Avionic systems
Automotive systems
Medical systems
Consumer electronics
IMPORTANT DATES
Special session proposals: July 27, 2010
Paper submission: Sept. 1, 2010 Extend to Oct. 1, 2010
