Model-Based Engineering (MBE) is an approach to the design and development of software and systems that relies on exploiting high-level models and computer-based automation to achieve significant boots in both productivity and quality

ECMFA is dedicated to advancing the state of knowledge and fostering the industrialisation of the MBE approach.

Its focus is on engaging key figures of research and industry, in Europe and elsewhere, in a dialogue which will result in a stronger, more efficient industry, producing more reliable software on the basis of state-of-the-art research results.

The 2010 conference is organised in two tracks dealing with the foundations and applications of MBE There will be additional workshops and tools and poster exhibitions on these subjects.

ECMFA 2010 will be held at the Jussieu Campus, University of Pierre & Marie Curie (UPMC), in the center of Paris and close to the Pantheon, Notre Dame cathedral and the île de la Cité.

The conference is co-organized by UMPC-LIP6(Laboratoire d'Informatique Paris 6) and the CEA-LIST(Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique, Laboratoire d'Intégration des Systèmes et Technologies).

The Université Pierre & Marie Curie is the largest university for science and medicine in France with more than 31000 students. The computer science department hosts the LIP6 (Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6) which is one of the main computer science laboratories in France with currently 170 faculty members and administrative staff as well as about 300 PhDs and postdocs.

The CEA LIST, which is based near Paris at Saclay and Fontenay-aux-Roses, is a key software systems and technology research center, with up to 600 researchers, engineers and technicians working in three areas with vital societal and economic implications: embedded systems, interactive systems and signal detection and processing."
