PIMSP 2014 - Symposia on Perception Inspired Multimedia Signal Processing Techniques
Topics/Call fo Papers
With the rapid growth in information technologies, multimedia content has become pervasive. We are also witnessing the emergence of new formats such as 3D content, 4K, Ultra High Definition (UHD), High Frame Rate (HFR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR), with the goal of providing enhanced communication and unique user experience. While developing such content it is important to take into account the fact that this content will be viewed by humans, as such, how people perceive it needs to be seen as an important factor in developing different systems. Taking into account such perception is important whether we are dealing with industrial, medical, or entertainment applications. In this symposium, we will focus on the advances made in multimedia signal processing that take into account the Quality-of-Experience of the user. The topics include but are not limited to:
Cross-modal audio-visual quality assessment
3D video quality assessment
Quality assessment for 4K resolutions and beyond
HDR image and video quality
Physiological aspects of media quality
Perception and coding
Quality measures
Perception and video learning
Color perception
Perceptual video quality assessment
End user quality of experience over social networks
Augmented video perception
Perceptual models for video processing
Psychophysical testing of media quality
Quality of multimedia content delivery over networks
Multimodal (audio and video) subjective and objective quality assessment
Subjective and objective quality evaluation for new technologies (HRDR, aug. reality, etc…)
Keynote Speakers
General Chair
Béatrice Pesquet-Popescu, Télécom Paris Tech, FR
Technical Program Chairs
Frederic Dufaux, Télécom Paris Tech, FR
Mohamed Deriche, KFUPM, KSA
