Topics/Call fo Papers
The 16th International Symposium on Multispectral Color Science (MCS 2015) will be organized as part of AIC2015. Submissions will be handled through AIC 2015 electronic submission system and the conference proceedings with final versions of the accepted papers will be published in Proceeding of AIC2015.
Scope
Many aspects of multi- and hyper- spectral image acquisition, analysis, and rendering have been extensively researched recentl
y due to the technological advances in hardware devices, software systems, and signal processing algorithms. Moreover, there are numerous applications, such as quality control, agriculture, medicine, cosmetics, fine art and craft, printing, display, robotics, and remote sensing, in which spectral imaging technology is more and more exploited. As a consequence, a variety of problems encountered in our everyday lives have been reformulated, successfully solved, and sometimes cast into their new contexts rising new scientific challenges.
This symposium is intended to review the current state of the art, and address major challenges and future directions in spectral color science and imaging. Scientists and engineers from all over the world are invited to exchange their knowledge, technologies, and ideas on various hot and new topics in the wide range of fields including spectral color science and imaging.
Multispectral Image Capture
Multispectral Image Processing and Analysis
Multispectral Image Quality
Multispectral Image Visualization, Display, and Rendering
Multispectral Imaging Devices
Multispectral Video Technology
Multispectral Color and Human Vision
Multispectral Color Analysis
Multispectral Optimization of Light Sources and Displays
Multispectral Image Applications (Art, Skin, Medicine, etc.)
Presentations
a) Oral Presentation: 20 minutes
b) Poster Presentation
History of MCS
The 16th International Symposium on Multispectral Color Science (MCS 2015) builds on the tradition since 1999 to bring together researchers in the field of spectral color science and imaging. The first MCS symposium was launched at Chiba University, Japan in 1999 as The International Symposium on Multispectral Imaging and Color Reproduction for Digital Archives by the initiative of Professor Yoichi Miyake. Since 2001 the multispectral symposium has been organized by an informal consortium of researchers, mostly incorporated into larger international conferences as follows:
1st MCS, Chiba, Japan, 1999
2nd MCS, Chiba, Japan, 2000
3rd MCS, Joensuu, Finland, 2001
4th MCS with ICIS, Tokyo, Japan, 2002
5th MCS with PICS, Rochester, US, 2003
6th MCS with CGIV, Aachen, Gernmany, 2004
7th MCS with AIC, Granada, Spain, 2005
8th MCS with Electronic Imaging, San Jose, US, 2006
9th MCS, Taipei, Taiwan, 2007
10th MCS with CGIV, Terrassa, Spain, 2008
11th MCS with SCIA, Oslo, Norway, 2009
12th MCS with CGIV, Joensuu, Finland, 2010
13th MCS with CIC, San Jose, US, 2011
14th MCS with AIC, Newcastle, UK, 2013
15th MCS with ICISP, Cherbourg Normandy, France, 2014
This year’s collaboration with 2015 AIC Midterm Meeting should prove beneficial by bringing together the color and multispectral communities.
General Chair of MCS 2015
Shoji TOMINAGA, Japan
Program Committee of MCS 2015
Francisco IMAI, USA
Jon Yngve HARDEBERG, Norway
Markku HAUTA-KASARI, Finland
Bernhard HILL, Germany
Alamin MANSOURI, France
Yoichi MIYAKE, Japan
