Topics/Call fo Papers
The 2014 International Conference on Smart Computing (SMARTCOMP 2014)
3 - 5 November, 2014, Hong Kong, China
*Technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE Computer Society
Smart computing is emerging as an important multidisciplinary area, which can be broadly classified into two major areas: how to design and build smart computing systems and how to use computing technology to design smart things and make human life better. Applications of smart computing span across different areas, such as business, healthcare, environmental protection, security, entertainment, and social activities. The advancement of cloud computing, pervasive computing and social computing are bringing smart computing to a newer dimension and improving our ways of living.
2014 International Conference on Smart Computing (SMARTCOMP 2014) invites original papers on any topic that is related to smart computing. Hosted by the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, SMARTCOMP 2014 is the first international conference on smart computing. With the theme ¡§Innovation and Applications through Smart Computing¡¨, SMARTCOMP 2014 will provide an interactive forum for researchers, engineers and vendors from different disciplines to exchange ideas and experience, identify future directions and challenges, and explore collaborative research and system development. This conference will significantly benefit a large variety of audience from both academia and industry. You are cordially invited and most welcome to participate in SMARTCOMP 2014.
The topics to be addressed at SMARTCOMP 2014 will include, but are not limited to, all aspects of smart computing such as pervasive/ubiquitous computing, cloud computing, internet of things, big data analytics, security and privacy, social computing, cognitive computing, cyber-physical systems, smart buildings and cities. Submissions should be targeted to one of the following five major areas:
* Theory and algorithms
* Hardware and devices
* Systems and middleware
* Methodologies and paradigms
* Applications
Submission Guidelines:
Paper submissions should be no longer than 8 pages with a font size of 10 using the IEEE conference template (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences...). Papers must be submitted electronically as PDF files. All submitted papers will be subject to peer reviews by Technical Program Committee members and other experts in the field. All presented papers in the conference will be published in the proceedings of the conference and submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Selected high-quality papers may be published in a special issue of an SCI indexed international journal.
