NIGERCON 2010 - International Conference on Emerging and Sustainable Technologies for Power and ICT in a Developing Society (NIGERCON 2010)
Topics/Call fo Papers
For the past years, the IEEE Nigeria section has passed through continuous transformations. The dream of hosting an international conference has played dominant facet in the minds of many members. That vision will soon come to pass. The IEEE NIGERCON2010 will feature several technical and industry tracks, workshops and exhibition. The conference will showcase top academic and industry speakers.
NIGERCON is organized by the IEEE Nigeria Section. This premiere conference is determined to provide an international platform for the exchange of relevant technologies directed at providing enabling atmosphere for the creation of technology for development. Opportunities will be presented for the exchange of experience in the practical application of information and communication technology as well as power engineering in the direction that can produce sustainable development within a short time frame.
NIGERCON2010 will serve as a forerunner of a host of international conferences that will be held in the great nation of Nigeria. This yearâ?™s conference will hold in the beautiful city of Abuja.
Welcome to Abuja, Nigerias capital city.  Located in the center of Nigeria in an area known as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja is a planned city built mainly in the 1980s and officially became Nigeria's capital on 12 December 1991, replacing the role of the previous capital Lagos. Abuja's geography is defined by Aso Rock, a 400-meter monolith left by water erosion.  "Aso" means "victorious" in the language of the (now displaced) Asokoro which means the people of victory". The Presidential Complex, National Assembly, Supreme Court and much of the town extend to the south of the rock. Abuja is known for being the best purpose-built city in Africa as well as being one of the wealthiest and most expensive.
