Smart spaces can improve our living and working experience by constantly monitoring the environment and responding to the events autonomously. The applications can range from healthcare to green energy solutions. Smart spaces are created by integrating computing devices into the environment. In many applications, the computing devices must cover a large environment and must be capable of networking to efficiently sense and route data to one or several central devices for monitoring and decision making. Hence, it is essential that such devices be able to form a network and route data in an autonomous and decentralized way. This has partially been addressed by a great deal of research on sensor networks. However, there are still open problems on the way to a fully autonomous sensor network that can make decisions and adapt to the environment autonomously.
The main focus of the workshop is to bring out and highlight new theoretical or practical ideas and solutions on autonomous monitoring systems. We are interested in solutions that merge the design and the implementation of collaborative networking and sensing systems which are able to adapt devices to topology changes and to specific environments.
Important dates:
Paper submission: July 7th
Author notification: July 21st
Author registration: July 31st
Camera ready: July 31st
All accepted papers will be published by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world’s largest scientific libraries.
