The advances in wired and wireless communication technologies, as well as the proliferation of mobile devices, have enabled the realization of intelligent environments for people to communicate with each other, interact with information-processing devices, and receive a wide range of wired and wireless services through various types of networks and systems everywhere, anytime. One of the main enablers of this pervasive and ubiquitous environment is the advancement of most aspects in communications, networks, and applications. For instance, the advancement of MEMS technology allows long distance communication with low cost, and this has spawned a variety of applications in civilian, commercial and military areas using various kinds of networks including home networks, mobile ad hoc networks, personal area networks, wireless sensor networks, underwater networks, and vehicular networks.
The aim of the International Conference on Frontiers of Communications, Networks and Applications (ICFCNA 2014) is to provide a forum that brings together researchers from academia as well as practitioners from industry to meet and exchange ideas and recent research work on all aspects of communications, networks and applications.
