International Workshop on Advances in Data and Information Management
Aug 25, 2010, Beijing, China, P. R.
Managing large scale, distributed data and information in a user-centered approach has presented many challenges. Issues relating to data and information management include data center capacity dynamic growing, diverse data integration, heterogeneous data interoperability, and domain information & knowledge representation and retrieval, etc. that need to be addressed. It involves building appropriate cyberinfrastructure which include employing various computing paradigms, communication support infrastructures, and IT technologies, such as Grid / Cloud computing, mobile network, sensor network, wireless communication, SOA & Web service, collaborative computing & workflow, ontology, and domain specific information & knowledge model. In the past few years, worldwide e-Science, cyberinfrastructure, and Grid initiatives that exist have made significant contributions towards data and information management from the perspective such as acquisition, storage, discovery, quality assurance, integration, and analysis & visualization. The ADIM2010 workshop aims to provide a platform to bring together researchers, industrial practitioners, and developers for communication, discussion, and exchange of novel ideas and results, and provide an outlook for the next step, which will face additional challenging issues such as petascale data management, next generation computing paradigm, global e-infrastructure and advances in virtualization technologies.
Topics of interest include, but not limited to:
e-Science Data, Information and Knowledge
Large-scale Scientific Data Handlinig
Data and Information Management in Grid /Cloud Computing (e.g. Data Grid, Cloud storage)
Web Service and SOA in Data and Information Management
Data Acquisition and Automatic Metadata Extraction
