Instructor: Barry Zalma
Description:
This webinar highlights the requirement in every first party property policy of insurance that an insured, if required by the insurer, appear for and testify at examination under oath. The examination under oath provides the insurer with the opportunity to cross-examine the claim presented by the insured.
It assists insurers in detecting or removing doubt about the honesty of a claim or the true extent of loss claimed by the insured. Appearance at an examination under oath is a condition precedent to indemnity under a policy of first party property insurance such that the failure to appear and testify is grounds for total denial of a claim. This webinar will explain the examination under oath and the means by which an insured can comply with the condition and move the claims settlement process to a prompt resolution.
