In recent years, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry research and practice have seen a dramatic growth with the introduction of new and refined diagnostic tools, innovative research tools and substantial progress in therapeutic and preventive approaches to deve- lopmental psychopathology. These innovations have been accompanied by strong advances in many areas of scientific research, including epidemiology, neuro- science, and genetics. As a result, the 11th Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research Training Seminar has been created to prepare junior investigators to be part of this scientific and clinical revolution
Structure of Educational Project:
The Foundation Child and the Working Group on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Italian Society of Psychopathology (SOPSI), with the Co-Sponsorship of the WPA’s Working Group on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, are pleased to announce the 11th Training Course in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for young researchers in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychiatry.
The aim of the course is to provide a high-quality intensive training experience that will offer training on the relevant elements of clinical science (diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the most important childhood psychiatric disorders) and research (designing a research project, research methods, basic principles of statistics, writing and presenting scientific work). In addition, the course is designed to provide tutorials, networking and other valuable educational activities that will enhance the education of junior investigators.
The five-day seminar will include lectures and interactive sessions conducted by an international panel of highly qualified faculty with recognized expertise in their respective fields.
This year the Training Seminar will take place in Camposampiero, near Venice, in a pleasant location called "Oasi Sant'Antonio".
Basic information about the Course:
? Five-full days of intensive training on topics related to research in child and adolescent psychiatry. Trai- nees are expected to attend all scheduled activities;
? The training is targeted for junior researchers in child and adolescent psychiatry or psychiatry, with an interest in developmental psychopathology.

Candidates must:
? Be a physician with training in a relevant medical specialty;
? Have a strong commitment to research in child and adolescent psychiatry;
? Demonstrated productivity in child and adolescent psychiatry research;
? Active, demonstrable participation in a research
project And/or relevant scientific publications.
Final deadline to apply is: 15 March 2014
Trainees are resposible only for their travel costs to and from the semniar site. The Foundation Child will cover application fees, tuition, food and lodging.
Candidate:
? NUMBER: Maximum of 40 young researchers or specialists under the age of 35, or no more than 5 years since completing training;
? Must be nominated by an Academic Professor of Psychiatry and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at an identifiable center for psychiatric research and training;
? Willing to develop specific competence in the following areas of child and adolescent psychiat- ry: clinical research (diagnosis, treatment and pre- vention of child psychiatric disorders), applied/ translational research and/or research training/ management.
Must demonstrate at least one of the following:
1. At least one publication (as author or co-author)
on a peer reviewed and/or indexed on PubMed;
2. At least one poster or other presentation during a Psychiatry or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Congress (National or International);
3. Presently or recently involved in a relevant rese- arch project in child and adolescent psychiatry or developmental psychopathology;
4. A willingness to attend and entirely participate the one-week seminar
