This workshop will introduce theory, methodology, technology, data and online tools for spatial social sciences. The training workshop will discuss how space-time data of different formats and sources can be integrated, reported, visualized, and analyzed in spatial systems. It will demonstrate the newly developed spatial data explorers (China Geo-Explorer, US Geo-Explorer, Urban and Regional Explorer, and Spatial Explorer of Religion) distributed by the University of Michigan China Data Center and the latest GeoDa software and it's Python version library distributed by GeoDa Center for GeoSpatial Analysis and Computation, Arizona State University. Some case studies on population, urbanization, disaster assessment, environment and health, religion and society will be discussed.
