RGB 2014 - SPECIAL SESSION on ?RGB-D: Open Issues and Applications?

In the past year, novel camera systems like the Microsoft Kinect or the Asus Xtion sensor that provide both color and dense depth images became readily available. The coming of these devices gives us a possibility to resolve some difficult problems encountered when working with conventional cameras. Moreover, these devices allow to open a high number of new applications in different domains. The main aim of this session is to bring together experts from academia and industry to discuss the use of these devices: open issues and applications. The session will cover the following topics:
? Data acquisition, color and depth calibration, denoising
? RGB-D hand gesture recognition
? Human-machine interaction with RGB-D sensors
? Face recognition with RGB-D sensors
? Fall detection with RGB-D sensors
? Human activity recognition in RGB-D sequences

? Applications: education, medicine
