Dear friends,
On behalf of the organizing committee, I am extremely happy to invite you to participate in the IEEE/CAS-EMB Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference, edition 2014. BioCAS 2014 will be held on October 22-24, 2014, at the new EPFL Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The theme of the 2014 edition is a “Breakthrough for Distributed Diagnostics and Therapy”, highlighting the enormous potential that Circuits and Systems have in developing distributed diagnostics and therapy, the next generation of medical care!
This Conference will be a high-standard event providing a scientific forum for scientists and students to interact and exchange ideas in the very rapidly growing area of development of innovative devices for biomedical applications. The conference will also be an occasion to present results and innovative solutions for today’s health problems at the frontiers of biomedical engineering. The conference aims to bring together on the EPFL campus scientists, engineers, technologists, medical researchers, and R&D leaders from all over the world to meet and discuss cutting-edge research in biomedical circuits and systems, as well as to solve complex health-service problems requiring interdisciplinary collaboration.
BioCAS 2014 will be multidisciplinary in nature, comprising of an eclectic mix of insightful invited talks (have a look at the already accepted speakers!), demonstrations, and technical sessions. This conference will enable members of our communities to broaden their knowledge in emerging areas of research at the interface of the life sciences and the circuits and systems engineering discipline. The three-day program for BioCAS 2014 covers a range of topics including but not limited to:
Biosensor devices and interface
Implantable electronics
Telecare systems
Wireless and energy harvesting / scavenging technology for medicine, biology and the life sciences
Body area network / body sensor network
Lab-on-chip & BioMEMS
Bio-inspired systems
Electronics for brain science and brain machine interfaces
Innovative circuits for medical applications
Biofeedback and electrical stimulation
Biosignal processing
Biomedical imaging technologies and image processing
Medical information systems
Bioinformatics
On behalf of all the members of the organizing committee, I cordially invite you to participate in BioCAS 2014 and contribute to the continued success of this important annual conference; one that advances the growing field of biomedical engineering.
I look forward to welcoming you to enjoy our conference and to discover the beauty of Switzerland in 2014!
Sincerely yours,
Sandro Carrara Signature
