To be published by IGI Global
Introduction
Chaos Theory is an important research field in mathematics, employing many applications in different disciplines like physics, engineering, economics, biology, among others. Its scope is based on scientific studies associated with the search on behavior of nonlinear dynamical systems, which are highly sensitive to their initial conditions (chaotic systems). In time several kinds of sub-working fields have also been introduced within the context of research studies on the Chaos Theory. Chaos control (control of chaos), chaos synchronization, and chaotification (anti-control of chaos) are some sub-working fields that can be examined within the mentioned content. Chaos control and chaos synchronization are especially remarkable and important research work fields aiming to affect dynamics of chaotic systems in order to use them for different kinds of applications that can be examined within many different fields like computer sciences, mechanics, communication, economics and finance, biology, chemistry, medicine, geology, among others. At this point, chaos control can be defined as the stabilization by means of small system perturbations, of one of the unstable periodic orbits (UPOs) of a chaotic system, whereas chaos synchronization can be evaluated as the operation enabling two or more chaotic systems to behave synchronous. Currently, there are different kinds of approaches or methods that have been introduced for performing chaos control and chaos synchronization tasks. But because of some disadvantages and limitations of these ones, newer approaches or methods are designed and introduced by researchers to improve the related works within the field. Additionally, there are also many studies already introduced in order to improve more advanced solutions for problems of chaos control and chaos synchronization. Most of these studies include usage of intelligent approaches or systems on the related problems of the Chaos Theory.
Objective of the Book
The objective of the book is to introduce Artificial Intelligence-based approaches, methods, or techniques that are used for providing effective solutions for chaos control and chaos synchronization. As a result of introducing such studies, people who are interested in the related fields (Chaos Theory and Artificial Intelligence) will also be enabled to improve their knowledge about the current literature and the latest developments in this sense. Additionally, the publication also aims to take readers' (researchers') attention to effectiveness of intelligent approaches or systems for solving different kinds of problems within different fields of the modern world. Finally, it is also extremely important that the publication will provide an essential reference source to improve current literature of the related fields and provide newer ideas for future developments.
Target Audience
The book will be utilized in the Chaos Theory and Artificial Intelligence fields, and more specifically in the mathematics and physics fields. Additionally, it will also be utilized within the other areas interested in using intelligent systems on nonlinear, complex, dynamic systems. Generally, this book will provide a research document intersecting both Chaos Theory and Artificial Intelligence and provide an essential reference source. In this context, it will aid interested people and researchers within the expressed fields. The book can also be used as an educational material to examine the latest improvements within the Chaos Theory, the applications of the Artificial Intelligence field, and as a material for understanding the usage of Artificial Intelligence approaches, methods, and techniques for solving important problems in different fields.
Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Popular Artificial Intelligence techniques and their usage on control of chaos and chaos synchronization. The related techniques include Fuzzy Logic, Artificial Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, among others.
- Artificial Intelligence - optimization algorithms and their applications on control of chaos and chaos synchronization. These algorithms include Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), among others.
- Newer Applications Intelligence-based approaches, methods and techniques and their usage on control of chaos and chaos synchronization. These 'solution tools' include, for example; Support Vector Machines (SVM), and others.
- Designed and developed hybrid systems for control of chaos and chaos synchronization; an introduction of these systems.
- Newer intelligent approaches for improving introduced classical control and synchronization methods on chaotic systems; introduction of these approaches.
Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit their full chapters immediately; because the book will be taken into publishing process at the start of May, 2014.
After receiving full chapters, the authors will be notified in a week (after the rapid review process) in order to receive their final materials along with the revised version (if needed) of their chapters.
