Overview: HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach are the basis for healthcare rules that protect patient and provider information. This presentation examines the increased areas of enforcement and the findings from the regulatory audits that were conducted in 2012 to identify threats and liabilities all healthcare providers, insurance companies and business associates face. Action items to reduce these risks and best practices for HIPAA compliance (that also serves to protect from other enforcement actions as well) will be discussed as well as deeper discussions about automating HIPAA processes, especially breach investigation and determination.
