Overview: This webinar will review the reasons why to implement a wellness program and specifically why in the workplace. The program discusses the risk factors of being sedentary, poor nutrition, tobacco use, obesity, and stress. The wellness program regulations have recently changed. The Final Rules for Incentives for Nondiscriminatory Wellness Programs in Group Health Plans were issued on June 3, 2013 and are effective for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2014. Numerous companies are not compliant. Learn the requirement under HIPAA for wellness programs, participation based program, and health contingent based programs that include activity only wellness programs and/or outcome based wellness programs. The program will include the 5 standards that the plans must be meet to be in compliance as well as the new healthcare reform changes in the regulations. The webinar will also address ERISA, GINA, ADA, ADEA, FLSA and HIPAA Title II.
The program will provide a brief overview of best practices and specific information of the components of your wellness plan and how to build a compliant and effective program by building in the reasonable alternative standards to help employees become healthier. This webinar explains health risk assessments and reports, preventive exams, physical activity, nutrition, and stress management. It also addresses how to have optimal participation as well as how to offer incentives and which incentives are taxable to the organization and/or participant. Program also discusses successful strategies. How to build your wellness program including first year strategy, second year and third year. We also discuss return on value for the organization and return on investment. The webinar includes statistics regarding health care claims and worker compensation claims.
