SDR-GCC 2010: The International Workshop on Scalable Distributed Research for Grids, Clusters and Clouds
18th-19th October 2010
Moscow, Russia
About the Conference
Cloud Computing is backed up by the Industry sector whereas Grid Computing is backed up by the academic institutions. They are both coming from different point of views, but they might converge and remain as they are. However, research in this converging field should be identified independently. This workshop will aim to maintain a moderate difference in research analysis of these fields and their applications. Specifically, this workshop will focus on pioneering research in scalable distributed research environment with the aim to achieve a clear difference in range of applications of these fields.
“Scalable Distributed Research for Grids, Clusters and Clouds (SDR-GCC 2010’)” is co-located and peer-reviewed two days workshop, scheduled to be held in conjunction with the International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems (ICUMT 2010, http://icumt.org/). The ICUMT Congress 2010 is supported by the Russian scientific funding agencies as well as by Popov Society (IEEE Sister) and regarded as very important part of scientific life of Russia. The ICUMT 2010 will be held in Moscow, Russia-is one of the most important world science and research centers with tremendous intellectual and technological resources. It is really the nice place to hold international conferences and congresses, exhibitions and festivals, business meetings. Moscow is the country’s largest city; it’s political, economic, business, educational, religious and cultural center.
This workshop will focus on the following issues/topics, but are not limited to
1. Cloud computing: Actor Model, Cluster Manager, Parallel Computing, Parallel Processing, Redundant Array of Inexpensive Servers, Utility Computing, High Performance Cloud Computing, Virtual Private Cloud, Web Operating System and Web Services, Web Semantics in the Clouds, Data Security in Cloud Computing Architecture and Multi-tenant Cloud Computing.
2. Grid Computing Concepts and Related Technology: Distributed Computing, High Performance Computing, Network Agility, Semantic Grid, Supercomputer, Computer Cluster, Computon, Grid File System, Edge Computing, Metacomputing, Space Based Architecture, Data Grid, Tuple Space and Wireless Network.
3. Farm Computing: Green Computing, Link Farm, Blade Server, Server Farm\Cluster and Render Farm.
Paper Submission
Authors are invited to submit full papers in English of not more than 10 pages (including figures, tables & references) in IEEE double-column format. Submissions must present original work that has not been previously published, and is not under submission elsewhere. All papers must be reviewed by an International Programme Committee (with a minimum of 3 reviews per paper). All papers must include a title, complete contact information for all authors, and keywords on the cover page. The corresponding author should be identified clearly. Papers must be submitted electronically (in PDF format) via on-line submission using the EDAS system (http://edas.info/N8869). Upon acceptance of a paper, at least one author of each accepted submission must attend the workshop and that all workshop participants must pay the ICUMT 2010 workshop registration fee, as well as the conference fee.
The conference proceedings (including workshops) will be published in IEEE Xplore (pending) and indexed in relevant databases (such as EI-index). Authors of selected outstanding papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for consideration of publication in a special issue.
