IOTs 2014 - 1st International Workshop on Internet of Things (IOTs), RFIDs, WSNs and beyond

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Wireless Sensor Network (WSNs) are considered to be the main elements of pervasive computing and have gathered the interest of the research community in the past few years. Such technologies empower computers to perceive the world for themselves leading the way to the new Internet of Things (IoT). This interlinking of physical world and cyberspace foreshadows an exciting endeavor that is highly attractive to researchers, corporations, and individuals. IoT promises to create a global network of physical objects every bit as pervasive and ubiquitous as the worldwide web itself. Some are already describing it as either the ultimate convenience or the ultimate disaster revolving around our daily privacy. What does this mean to those of us who will be encountering IoT? How would IoT transform our lives? And what are the design and deployment challenges associated with such a network?
