This conference is organised by the Department of Commerce and Management at Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi under the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (a University u/s 3 of UGC Act) at the Kochi Campus has distinguished itself as a temple of learning in the emerging areas of Commerce and Management, Computer Science and Visual Media and Communication, Department of English and Language. The Department of Commerce and Management is offering B.Com. and BBM Programmes at under ? graduate level and M.Com. (Finance and Systems ) Programme at post ? graduate level, relevant to the industry requirements in an exemplary manner. We have been able to place all the passing out students, both at UG and PG levels, in reputed organisations including banks. The alumni of the Department are now serving in various domains of management, academia and administration in India and abroad. The Department is endowed with learned and experienced faculty members and has extremely good infrastructure. Through uncompromising quality in educational delivery, our University has won us numerous laurels and recognition including the much coveted highest grade of ‘A’ Grade from NAAC and has been ranked in the IVY LEAGUE of Indian Universities along with Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Mumbai etc. A review report of the Ministry of Human Resources Development listed Amrita among the top ranks of all Indian Universities. Our international collaborations, achievements and recognitions are innumerable.
Theme of the Workshop
Modern banking in India has traversed a long way since independence. Globalisation of Indian economy has created an environment where the financial services system has to be cost effective, customer oriented and technology based. Banking sector has been undergoing drastic metamorphosis where the need for a stable, efficient, resilient and vibrant banking system has come to occupy the centre stage. The enhanced and increasing levels of deregulation, stiff competition and the technology revolution have placed numerous demands on the banks.
The banking sector reforms aim at enhancing the productivity, efficiency and competitiveness of the banking industry. In addition to the traditional services, to meet the varied financial needs, banks have to offer a wider and flexible range of financial products tailored for all types of customers in a most efficient manner in term of cost, time and convenience.
According to IBA-FICCI-BCG report, India’s Gross Domestic Product growth will make the Indian banking industry the third largest in the world by 2025

The innovations witnessed by the corporate sector during the nineties have initiated new business paradigms, in which information technology played a significant role in improving the banking services. As a result sweeping changes took place in banking sector to meet the needs and requirements of individuals, organisations and diverse sectors of the economy. Consequently banks have come up with a whole range of banking products and services to suit the requirements of the clients.
Banks are now reaching out to the masses with technology to facilitate greater ease of communication and transactions through tremendous innovations. This is the hallmark of global banking standard. According to IBAFICCI- BCG report, India’s Gross Domestic Product growth will make the Indian banking industry the third largest in the world by 2025.

Guidelines for PAPER CONTRIBUTIONS
? Research papers on related themes may also be presented subject to approval of Editorial Screening Committee for the conference. The papers will be screened by a thorough scrutiny process and the selected papers will be accepted for presentation.
? The participants are required to send the full paper along with an abstract not exceeding 100 words. The full paper shall not exceed FIVE pages including tables, charts and diagrams. The papers shall be typeset in MS Word in TIMES NEW ROMAN font, sized 12.
? The Certificates for Participation will be given only to those who are physically present at the Conference. Certificates for Paper Presentation will be given only if the author/co-author is able to present the same at the conference venue.
