Overview
We are pleased to announce a pre-conference in Action Development: Theory and Methods, which is coinciding with ICIS 2014 in Berlin, Germany. The field of developmental action research, with its associated methodological innovations, is rapidly growing. The primary objective of this pre-conference is to promote the exchange of research advances relating to action comprehension and action execution during infancy and toddlerhood. In addition, our goal is to discuss how new technologies and methodological improvements enrich our understanding of action processing in development.
Program
In the morning Professor Joshua Tenenbaum (TBC) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Professor Claes von Hofsten of Uppsala University will give keynote talks on important current topics in the field of action research in infancy. In the afternoon a round-table discussion on methodological innovation will take place. The aim of this session is to provide a platform for scientists to communicate directly with industry representatives about current requirements and restraints that impact the development of the field. This will be a novel opportunity for both researchers and engineers to exchange information for mutual benefit. This will be followed by a technical workshop featured by Tobii Technology AB. led by experts in eye-tracking technology.
We invite researchers to submit abstracts for a poster session to be held at the close of the preconference day, of which three abstracts will be nominated to extend to a 20 minute short talk.
