QOL 2015 - special issue on the built environment and quality of life (QOL)
Topics/Call fo Papers
We are organizing a special issue on the built environment and quality of life (QOL) at Travel Behaviour and Society. The venue is “an interdisciplinary journal publishing high-quality original papers which report leading edge research in theories, methodologies and applications concerning transportation issues and challenges which involve the social and spatial dimensions. In particular, it provides a discussion forum for major research in travel behavior, transportation infrastructure, transportation and environmental issues, mobility and social sustainability, transportation geographic information systems (TGIS), transportation and quality of life, transportation data collection and analysis, etc.” For detailed information on the journal, refer to http://www.journals.elsevier.com/travel-behaviour-....
QOL is a key indicator in measuring the success of planning and policy. The attention to people’s QOL is particularly important in fast-growing developing countries where prosperity and QOL of residents are largely ignored in the rapid urbanization and industrialization process.
This issue will be a collection of high-quality and original papers on the connections between the built environment and QOL. The built environment includes, but is not limited to, land use, urban design, and transportation systems. QOL can be defined as a general measure or a measure specific to various life domains such as travel, residence, and leisure. We expect that research worldwide will offer a critical guide on planning and policy efforts in developing countries as well as developed countries.
You are cordially invited to submit a paper to this special issue via the journal website. Please indicate that the paper is for the special issue. The full paper is due November 15, 2014. All papers are subjective to normal review procedure of the journal. The timeline for peer review is as follows:
Feedback of first-round reviews: May 1, 2015
Feedback of second-round reviews (if applicable): July 1, 2015
Final manuscript: October 1, 2015
We will organize a few related sessions at the 8th International Association for China Planning conference in Guangzhou on June 21-22, 2014. If you are interested in presenting your work at the conference, please follow the submission instruction at http://www.chinaplanning.org/conf/index.php/iacp_8....
