Abstracts are now invited for the 36th International Congress of the European Hernia Society.
Please read the instructions below carefully before submitting your abstract.
Abstract submission deadline: 20 January 2016
Abstract Submission Guidelines
1. All abstracts must be submitted on or before 20 January 2016. All submissions must be made through the
on-line submission system on this website.
2. Abstracts must be original and include unpublished data. Authors are advised to ensure the accuracy of the submitted abstracts.
3. All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and the decision of the reviewers is final. The Scientific Committee will decide if abstracts are suitable for oral or poster presentations and will allocate submissions to appropriate sessions.
4. Corresponding authors will be notified of acceptance by 14th March 2014. Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in a the abstract book produced as a supplement to Hernia, The World Journal of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery.
Abstract Format
1. All abstracts should be submitted in English.
2. The abstract title should not exceed 20 words and the text should be limited to 300 words.
3. A maximim of two black and white illustrations can be included in the abstract.
Abstracts must follow the structure outlined below:
?Background: a statement of the hypothesis or research question
?Methods: an explanation of the study design and/or experimental methods used
?Results: a concise summary of the major findings. Sufficient data must be provided to permit evaluation by the reviewers. Statements such as "the data will be presented" or "results will be discussed" are not acceptable and may lead to an abstract being rejected.
?Conclusion: summary of the overall findings.
