SCOPE
Years of research efforts in mobile computing have brought us tremendous knowledge and experience in this broad domain, as well as many hardware/software platforms, frameworks, libraries and toolkits. We believe that an ultimate goal of mobile computing is to build useful applications and services. Built upon its inaugural success in 2009, MobiCASE 2010, the 2nd International ICST Conference on Mobile Computing, Application and Services, continues to provide great opportunities to researchers and practitioners, from both the academia and industry, to present and discuss their work on mobile applications and service provisioning.
We seek novel submissions in all areas in mobile applications, services, and systems research above the transport layer (i.e. above TCP/IP or equivalent), with an emphasis on complete end-to-end solutions and their components.
***
TOPICS
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
* Application distribution and service hosting paradigms
* Applications/services based on new sensor/actuator technologies
* Distributed/cloud computing for mobile
* Enterprise-domain mobile applications/services
* Location, navigation and transportation
* Mobile-assisted education
* Mobile computing for emerging markets
* Mobile entertainment and gaming
* Mobile healthcare and wellness
* Mobile monetization
* Mobile payment and other financial services
* Mobile platforms, operating systems and middleware
* Mobile social networking
* Programming languages, toolkits and libraries for mobile
* Scalability issues in mobile computing
* System management, monitoring and diagnostics for mobile
* User context modeling & context-aware mobile applications/services
* User interfaces and user experience design for mobile
* Web technologies tailored for the mobile environment

applications. We are particularly interested in connecting research to practice.
We are aiming for a balanced workshop program that avoids overlapping themes. Workshop organizers are expected to be
active in the area of their workshop proposal.
Should you wish to discuss ideas for a workshop proposal prior to the submission deadline, contact the Workshop Chair, Yingen Xiong, at workshop-chair-AT-mobicase.org
