In the frame of the 13th International Congress on Information, Info'2014, to be held on April 14 ? 18 2014, at Havana Congress Center, we invite you to take part in the following events:
International Symposium: Information technologies for building knowledge societies
This symposium is the ideal frame for sharing the experiences of institutions carrying out research projects in the field of information technologies. Likewise, it provides a good opportunity to exchange views with experts in this subject and with the actors performing in this important field. Some of the contributions chosen from seminars are accepted to be published by the Information Sciences Journal.
The symposium will be held on Thursday, April 17th, 2014. The Scientific Committee will receive works dealing with research, review or analysis of case studies, completed or in progress, relevant to information technologies
The topics relevant to the Symposium are the following:
1. Automation of libraries (repositories and library management integrated systems).
2. The use of cloud computing applied to information services.
3. The application of open source tools by information centers and professionals for best practice.
4. Free software in libraries, information centers and universities.
5. Learning platforms.
6. Web 2.0 applications.
7. Information Technologies applied to business management.
Colleagues interested in participating as lecturers are requested to send works including clear sections on: (1)Study background,(2)Purpose of the work;(3)Used methodology/approach; and(4)Main outputs obtained or expected according to the case. Works written in English or Spanish are accepted.
Important dates:
Sending of completed works: Until January 31th 2014
Notification of acceptance of works: Until February 29th, 2014.
