SCOPE
The conference will focus on the conceptualization, design, development, evaluation and application of innovative ways to use Information and Communication Technologies in the rural domain. The conference will, among others, explore the environmental impact of e-agriculture in the improvement and more efficient use of natural resources and exploitation of their potential towards a sustainable growth that best matches the needs of Africa. At this event current trends in the fields of agroecology and organic agriculture and the way these can be supported through e-agriculture, as well as particular applications and case studies that meet the needs of the African continent will be presented and discussed. In parallel, impacts that the use of e-services can have in the field of food, earth and life sciences, taking into account the particularities of Africa, will be evaluated.
The conference will bring together scientists, government agencies, technology developers, engineers and non-governmental organizations in an attempt to create a platform to exchange ideas and best practices on the implementation of e-services for agriculture, food, environment and life sciences, with emphasis on e-agriculture initiatives worldwide.
The event will include plenary sessions with distinguished keynote presentations and panel discussions with leading experts on cross-domain issues.
