The Valahian Journal of Historical Studies is under the patronage of the “Grigore Gafencu” Research Center for International Relationship of Valahia University of Târgoviste a fully refereed periodical dedicated to a better knowledge of the modern and contemporary history. As the interest for writing and reading in this history study field is obviously increasing, the initiative of this journal is both a response and a stimulant for all historians and specialists in social studies and international relations in search for an additional chance to have their scholarly materials published and acknowledged by the community of fellow historians. Valahian Journal of Historical Studies is a biannual, fully refereed journal, based in Târgoviste, Romania. It is published by the \\\"Grigore Gafencu\\\" Research Center for the History of International Relations within the Valahia University of Târgoviste. The journal started to be issued in 2004 and since has been included in Central and Eastern European Online Library (www.ceeol.com) and Ebsco databases (www.ebsco.com) and recognized by the Romanian National Research Council (www.cncsis.ro) as a B+ quality journal on a scale from A - best, B+, B, C and D levels (CNCSIS Code 793, registration no. 11738/19.12.2008), thus ranking among the most respected such Romanian periodicals. VJHS is also included in the WorldCat, British Library, Glasgow University Library, Helsinki University Library, Turku University Library and Biblioteca Academiei Romane databases.
For its 14 issue, the VJHS welcomes contributions on issues such as: the literature regarding the East-West relation; the methodology of research of the East-West relation; the history of the East-West relation during the 20th and 21st centuries: bilateral relations between Eastern and Western nations, relations between democratic Western states and Communist states, the pro-Western and anti-Western propaganda, the the pro-Eastern and anti-Eastern propaganda, mass currents, international organisations;
influences and inter-influences between East and West;
the invisible border between East and West;
the existence/non-existence/inexistence of an Eastern European identity;
perceptions and mindsets: Western Europeans about Eastern Europeans and vice versa;

The paper must be unpublished work;
ØThe paper must contain the author or authors’ full names, Institution they belong to and their e-mails;
ØThe paper must be submitted in the official languages of the publication: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Russian; they must contain a title, a short abstract written in English, five to ten key words as well as a ten row bio note about the author(s);
ØThe maximum length for the articles is 20 pages, with a single space interlining;
ØThe contributions must be sent in word format;
ØThe documents must be sent preferably in Garamond Font size 12;
ØFootnotes must be put automatically in Garamond Font size 10;
ØImages illustrating the text must be sent as .jpg or .tiff files; the author assumes responsibility for the right to publish the images;
ØThe journal’s editorial board reserves the right that upon the review by the referents to publish or reject any of the received papers and to suggest any of the collaborators changes that may be considered as necessary.
