Gwen Hughes is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with a certification in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS). She has over thirty years of experience in healthcare, much of which was spent directing Health Information Management (HIM), helping to ensure the confidentiality of patient health information, as well as performing or directing other administrative services (including IT) in health systems, hospitals, physician practices and long term care facilities. She has spent the past nine years educating individuals and organizations about the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
Two years ago, she launched Hughes Virtual Privacy Office through which she provides privacy and security related consulting and privacy officer services.
