The demand for telecommunication services and increased capacity will continue to be the driving force that challenges the development of increasingly more efficient, secure, green and robust communication technologies. Presently achievable link capacities approach the known Shannon limit but new cooperation techniques are being developed to improve spectral efficiency, thus allowing a more connected and united world. This 21st edition of the ICT 2014 International Conference on Telecommunications will reflect on such trends, presenting novel scientific and technical solutions for future telecommunication systems.
ICT 2014 will feature world-class plenary speakers, tutorials and technical sessions from academia, researching laboratories, government, industry (operators and suppliers) and security public services to discuss and exchange ideas in the fields of wireless and cable telecommunication networks, services and applications. The conference will also include an expo program, applications and exhibition.
Main topics of interest include but are not limited to:
* Wireless communications * ICT for smart cities * Localization and navigation, satellite and space communications * Smart Grid and ICT for power management * Heterogeneous networks and small cells * Ad-hoc, multi-sensor communications and energy harvesting * eHealth and assisted living * MIMO and multiuser systems * Cognitive and green radio communications * Software defined networks * Cooperative Communications * Peer-to-peer, device-to-device and M2M communications * Optical communications and technologies * Image processing, video compression and video coding * Multimedia and image communications * Signal processing for communications and bio inspired techniques * Information theory, channel coding, joint source-channel coding * Network coding, compressed sensing, network theory and technologies, routing techniques, wireless IP, multimedia over IP * Cryptography, ICT systems and networks security, computer and communication networks * Cloud Computing for communication systems, pervasive computing * Cloud base station and distributed signal processing software and hardware * Reconfigurable flexible low power architectures design techniques * Emulation, simulation and planning tools for communications * Business models, techno-economic and regulatory aspects * Services and applications * Speech processing applications in the field of telecommunications * Vehicular communications * Underwater acoustic and wireless communications
