ASONAM 2014 - IEEE/ACM ASONAM 2014 Industry Track
Topics/Call fo Papers
Social network analysis and mining techniques are being widely applied in industrial settings. In many cases such techniques are incubating and defining new industry sectors. Industry research in related areas is growing fast and a lot of exciting ideas, and innovative techniques and applications originated from these industry research activities. The industry track of the 2014 IEEE/ACM International Conference on Advances in Social Network Analysis and Mining (ASONAM) seeks full and short paper submissions, as well as poster and demonstration proposals to showcase recent advances in social network analysis and mining research with direct industry relevance, to discuss emerging trends and challenges with practical implications, and to facilitate interactions between academia and industry in this vital area of study of growing interests. As to topic coverage, there is no difference between the industrial track and the research track of ASONAM 2014. However, submissions to the industry track are expected to be focusing on real-world applications of social network analysis and mining techniques. Contributions from industry R&D groups are welcome, providing that there are innovative elements to the reported work. Such innovations can be from a methodological perspective. Or they can be concerned with the application setting, the framing of a practical problem, significant case studies with generalizable insights, interesting evaluations and validations, among others. Academic contributions with practical relevance clearly established are welcome as well. Collaborative work cutting across academia and industry are particularly encouraged.
