2014 International Power Electronics Conference, IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 -ECCE Asia-. The first IPEC was held in 1983, and since then, in 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2005, IPEC’s have been held in different locations, sponsored by IEEJ. Since 2010, IPEC has had the additional function of the power electronics conference series which is held in the three-country rotation of China, Japan and Korea, and has also been held as one of the ECCE Asia conferences due to cooperation with the IEEE/Power Electronics Society.
The seventh International Power Electronics Conference, IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 -ECCE Asia-, will be held from May 18 to May 21, 2014 in Hiroshima, Japan. The conference venue will be the International Conference Center Hiroshima, which is located in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Power electronics has been providing numerous new technologies in the fields of electric energy conversion and motor drive systems for more than 40 years. In recent years, global energy and environmental issues are becoming more serious and power electronics is expected to play a key role in solving such problems. The IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 -ECCE Asia- will provide a unique opportunity for researchers, engineers, and academics from all over the world to present and exchange the latest information on power electronics, motor drives, and related subjects.
Hiroshima, the conference venue, is the capital city of Hiroshima Prefecture situated in the west of Japan’s main island. Hiroshima is well known as the location of the world heritage site Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine, which has a history dating back 1400 years. Everyone will enjoy the beautiful landscape of the shrine situated at the water front, and can also savor oysters and other delicious seafood, and original thin pancake cuisine known as “okonomiyaki.” I am sure that all the participants will have a memorable and enjoyable time in Hiroshima.
We hope you will submit a paper and enjoy the IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 -ECCE Asia-.
We look forward to seeing you in Hiroshima in 2014.
Sincerely yours,
Organizing Committee Chairperson
Atsuo KAWAMURA
