EFHM 2014 - symposium ? "Ethnicity, Femininity, and the History of Music"

The Garth Institute will be hosting a symposium that will be dedicated to works-in-progress that focus on underrepresented groups who have made contributions to music, music history, music theory, and music education. Those interested must submit a proposal of no more than 300 words as a PDF file accompanied by a CV of no more than 3 pages. No previously published work will be accepted as the event is designed to provide a forum for productive and supportive discussion of works-in-progress. All proposals are due by March 1, 2014. Applicants will be notified by Email no later than June 1, 2014 whether their proposals have been accepted for presentation. Send all proposals and expressions of interest to info-AT-garthinstitute.org or oduval11-AT-gmail.com. Accepted participants will be required to submit a paper as a PDF file of no more than 8,000 words three weeks before the symposium to the above Email addresses. Papers will be pre-circulated and read by all participants. Please note that all travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant. We encourage emerging and junior scholars, and untenured faculty to apply.
