SG 2014 - Symposium on Smart Grids
Topics/Call fo Papers
Smart grids aim at improving power system reliability, security, sustainability, efficiency and flexibility through distributed and coordinated intelligence at all levels of the electric power grid ? generation, transmission & distribution and end customers. At the core of the Smart Grid are control, information and communications technologies that aim to empower today's power grid with the capability of supporting two-way energy and information flow, automated fault detection / restoration and black start capability, and integration of distributed renewable energy sources into the grid. The objective of this Symposium on Smart Grids is to bring together professionals from academia and industry to exchange ideas, explore enabling technologies, and provide an intellectual forum to discuss issues that are relevant to the smart grid.
Topics of Interest
Papers are invited on all aspects of Smart Grid Networking, Communications, Control, Security and Data Analytics, including but not limited to:
Architectures and models for the smart grid
Networking for smart grid
Smart sensors and advanced metering infrastructure
Data analytics and demand response
Virtual power plants, distributed generation, microgrids, renewables and storage
Wide-area monitoring, protection, communication, and control in energy systems
Fault detection, classification, location, and diagnosis
Smart grid simulation and performance analysis
Smart grid cyber security and privacy
Multi-agent systems for smart grids
Architectures and models for the smart grid
Energy management systems
