This webinar will discuss U.S. Customs & Border Protection’s (CBP) move to full ISF enforcement on July 9, 2013. On June 6, 2013, CBP announced that they intend to fully enforce ISF requirements on July 9, 2013. For all maritime consignments departing a foreign port bound for the U.S. on July 9th or after will be subject to full CBP enforcement of ISF requirements. This means that all importers may be subject to a Liquidated Damage claim of $5,000 if the ISF is late (not filed 24 hours prior to departure) or inaccurate. The term Liquidated Damages essentially means penalty or fine.
