2013 - Special Session: Smart Sensing and Intelligent Systems
Topics/Call fo Papers
With the rapid progress of industrialization and civilization, intelligent systems are emerging as a concept where every sensor, device, person, vehicle, building, and street in the areas can be used as a component to probe intelligent social for serving people and their lives. Intelligent system aims to enhance both human life and environment smartly through a recurrent process of sensing, mining, understanding, and improving. It also aims to deeply understand the nature and sciences behind the phenomenon occurring in urban spaces, using a variety of heterogeneous data sources, such as traffic flows, human mobility, geographic and map data, environment, energy consumption, and economics, etc. In all above, smart sensing and intelligent systems can give rise to a richer user experience with a wide variety of interactive systems, from recommenders to storytelling platforms.
In this Special Section, we are particularly interested in research papers depicting intelligent systems and their components, describing a novel technical component as well as its rigorous evaluation. The evaluations would ideally include both technical and human-impact evaluations.
Indicative Topics/Areas
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to
? Smart Sensors in Science and Engineering
? Intelligent Systems for Social Welfare
? Intelligent Interfaces and Visualization Systems
? Intelligent Systems on Small, Mobile, and Wireless Systems
? Smart Systems for Energy Exploration and Environment Protection
Prospective contributors are invited to submit papers to
Secretary: Dr. Huimin Lu
Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Japan
Email luhuimin-AT-ieee.org
before November 1, 2013 (Firm Date). All accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of IEEE Conference, which will be included in IEEE Xplore and indexed by Ei Compendex. And the selected excellent papers (about 50%) will be recommended for publication in the special issues of SCI Journals or EI Journals.
