MCS 2013 - 1st International Workshop on Middleware for Cloud-enabled Sensing (MCS 2013)
Topics/Call fo Papers
This workshop intends to foster discussions on a potentially key enabling technology - cloud-enabled sensing - for next-generation computing paradigms such as the Internet-of-Things (IoTs). Technological advances in recent times have seen proliferation of sensing and monitoring with multiple modalities of sensors - using modern sensor platforms such as Crossbow Motes, crowd sensing, mobile sensing - to name a few. The enablement of next-generation computing will depend on how the multi-modal sensing data from different sources can be handled in real-time in a secure, sustainable, and accurate manner. Recent advances in the domains of big-data analytics and cloud computing have made such large-scale data handling a feasible proposition both from the perspective of algorithms as well as infrastructure capabilities. The focus of this workshop will be on how to marry these technological advances, and ensure sensing and monitoring of everything over the cloud.
