ICT 2013 is an educational technology conference for academics, researchers, instructors and practitioners for the purpose of exchanging information and facilitating discussion on how to improve the effectiveness of learning and teaching through the innovative use of technology, and showcasing innovative pedagogical practices using technology.
The theme is “Knowledge Sharing through Technology”. Knowledge sharing, the exchange of knowledge among individuals, is undoubtedly complementary to traditional education. By implementing an integrated approach to identifying, capturing, evaluating, retrieving, and sharing one’s information assets, along with the support of effective pedagogy and innovative technology, teaching and learning can be more effective and efficient without boundaries, hence bringing online education to a new era.
ICT 2013 is organized by HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), St. Paul’s Convent School and School of Continuing Studies, City University of Macau. This will be the eighth annual major event in the field. As in the past, the conference will include keynote addresses, paper presentations and workshops.
Paper Submission
Papers are welcome on topics relevant to the conference theme of “Knowledge Sharing through Technology”. These include, but not limited to, the following:
Knowledge sharing as a role in learning and teaching process
Application of ICT in support of knowledge sharing
Management and application of open education resources
Cultivating a knowledge sharing culture
Innovative use of technology in knowledge sharing
Application of mobile devices and social media to knowledge sharing
Impact of knowledge sharing on learners
Knowledge sharing through virtual communities
Opportunities and challenges of knowledge management
Knowledge sharing as a sustainable development in education
Other relevant topics would be considered
The abstract submission deadline is 10 May, 2013. Please refer to the conference website http://ict2013.hkuspace.hku.hk/ for submission details and publications guidelines. Papers submitted for presentation should be in English. Papers in Chinese will also be considered, and should be submitted together with paper titles and abstracts in English. Accepted papers in Chinese will be presented in Putonghua. Accepted papers will be included in the Proceedings. Selected papers will be published in Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) by Springer.
