MLAE 2013 - Special Session on Machine Learning Applications in Education

The field of education is constantly evolving with internet based learning environments. The new types of learning environments like virtual classroom, distance laboratories and new learning methodologies face with new problems that need to be addressed. The traditional learning environments are no longer used because of replacing with new technologies based on internet. Machine Learning can provide new solutions to problems that facing with new learning and teaching technologies in education. Machine learning can be applied to many educational subjects to facilitate new methods and learning environments in the field of education.
The field of machine learning involves a variety of techniques to solve problems in education.
Some example applications include prediction of learning success within the vocational and technical education, deciding effective learning methods, using social media for educational purpose, etc.
